But here he’s being presented a ball by Charles W. Eldridge, 102, a member of the Three Quarter Century Club, at St. Petersburg, Fla. The ball is inscribed with the names of members of the club all of whom are over 75 years of age.”

While I was looking through my archives I came by this great picture. I’m not 100% sure about the year, but based on the uniforms (jerseys + socks) and the inclusion of Dizzy Dean and Mgr. Gabby Street, it’s very likely to be from 1933.
1932 New York Yankees Team
Here’s the 1932 version of the annual spring training team pic that Yankees owner Col. Jacob Ruppert liked to show up for, front and center. Standing behind him is rookie pitcher Johnny Allen who is disturbing the uniform continuity of the picture by wearing a “YANKEES” road jersey that the team wore during the 1927-30 seasons. I’m sure he didn’t mind the hand-me-down jersey as he prepared for a rookie campaign that ended with him holding a 17-4 record…in what would be Babe Ruth’s last championship season.
